Anthony Macri Ortiz, A.K.A. ANTHO, is an artist and historian based in Southern California. ANTHO was introduced to art via the LA graffiti culture of the 1990s. Over the years, he has experimented with different art forms and techniques to develop a unique style of painting and tattooing. ANTHO initially went to college for art but was more interested in his Art History courses than his Fine Art and Graphic Design curriculum, subsequently changing his major from Art to History. He earned degrees in the study of History from the University of California, Santa Cruz and San Francisco State University, respectively. ANTHO focuses his artistic gaze on a variety of subjects including, but not limited to, space exploration, science fiction, popular culture, history, and (more recently) meteoritics.
