Tektites from the Philippines generally speaking have the most interesting surface texture of all the tektites from the Indochina strewnfield. That is the case with the specimen presented this month. It is covered with the half circle marks that are often seen. It has the characteristic bald spot and several old fracture scars. But nothing recent that could be called a chip. Many times in Philippinites there is also an increased amount of chemical etched texture as in the Anda type specimens. This individual is lacking any textural features other than the half circle marks and one oval pit not visible in the photo. This specimen from Luzon Island is rather small weighing in at only 14.93 grams.
