Libyan Desert Glass
(Impact Glass - not tektite)

This 53 gram specimen is from "The Darryl Futrell Collection Of Tektites".  Darryl acquired this specimen from Virgil E. Barnes in an exchange of specimens.  According to Darryl's notes, this specimen was originally collected in either 1932 or 1934,  making it a find from either P. A. Claytons 1932 expedition or the Dr. Spencer, Col. Clayton expedition of 1934.

The cut face on this specimen exhibits excellent views of the abundant cristobalite.
