An Article In Meteorite-Times Magazine

Well, we did receive some letters this month and many were to congratulate us on the launch of the magazine. Thanks, the words of encouragement were greatly appreciated.

We did get a couple letters on other topics that are published below.

Hello,

I am a member of the meteorite-list and saw them talking about pronunciation of meteorite names, why not do one or two names of meteorite per month. What do you think? I thought it would be fun when they found out they were saying words incorrectly.  Let me know what do you think.

Tom Perry

Tom, that was a great idea.

Please check Editor's Etchings for the first group of pronunciations.

Dear Editor,

Enjoyed your first issue. I am new at collecting and your articles have offered some valuable insight to the hobby. I have made several trips to Gold Basin and found 2 meteorites on my last trip. The pleasure I got from finding a piece of outer space will not soon be forgotten.

Please don't forget us beginners in future issues.

Thanks,

Stan Szalkowski

Congratulations Stan on your finds. There really is nothing quite the same as finding a meteorite. Be assured that there will be plenty of material included in the magazine for the new collector and the beginning meteorite scholar.  It is very important to us that this magazine be a source of information that is readable and understandable by individuals at all levels of experience with meteorites.

Please remember when sending a Letter to the Editor to write a short statement in the Subject line of the message. I am sorry but, I don't open mail with a blank subject from senders whom I do not know personally.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to hearing from many of you.
